Word of thanks from Collegiate 4-H

The UTM Collegiate 4-H (C4-H) chapter would like to thank the entire UTM campus for helping with the club’s collection of gifts for Operation Christmas Child. Collections began the first week of November and were completed by November 19.

Club members sorted the gifts into appropriate age groups and wrapped the boxes with Christmas paper. We collected enough donations to fill seven large shoe boxes for needy children throughout the world. The approximate 20 campus members of C4-H, hope this will become an annual project.

This project has given us a strong sense of global community. It is an awesome experience to give to those who are in need and share what we have been given. It is through projects like this that we remember how blessed we are to have the opportunity to go to college and live in a free country.

The Operation Christmas Child project is sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse. Samaritan’s Purse is an international relief agency with a rich history of reaching those children and adults who are hurting.

Last year, more than 6 million children in 95 countries received a shoebox through Operation Christmas Child. We do not know how many shoeboxes will be delivered this year, but we do know that there will be seven children impacted by the UTM campus, thanks to the generosity of the UTM family.

Thanks again for all of your support.
