What’s happening this week?


*BeanSwitch Release Party: tonight, 7 P.M., Tues., Nov. 30 featuring live music from the band On the Scene, poetry open mic slam in UC Gameroom. All are welcome to attend.

*UTM Faculty Art Exhibit: 5-7 P.M., Nov. 30 to Dec. 16 in Fine Arts Building, presented by the art faculty in the Department of Visual and Theater Arts at UTM. Participating art faculty include David McBeth, Professor of Art, Lane Last, Assistant Professor of Art, Dr. Carol Eckert, Assistant Professor of Art and Diane Shaw, Instructor of Art.

*At the Controls: now open at the UTM Paul Meeks Library Museum, from the Smithonian Institute in Washington D.C., opened on Nov. 17 to Jan 21, an exhibit featuring photos of various aircraft from the first days of flight with the Wright brothers, World War II planes all the way to the space shuttle and everything between.

*UTM Foreign Film Series Presents Amores Possiveis: Presented by the Modern Foreign Languages at UTM, fourth in the foreign film series, 7 P.M., Dec. 3 in Watkins Auditorium in the Boling University Center. Directed by Sandra Werneck. INtroduced by French Professor Lucia Florido.

*H.Y.P.E.: stands for Holy Young People Empowered College Ministry hosting a full week of events designed to empower your soul: Tues., Nov. 30: 7 P.M.: Bible study at the Baptist Student Union located beside Bradley Bookstore. Fri., Dec. 3: 7 P.M.: H.Y.P.E. NIte III at the Southside Baptist Church located at 120 South Ave., a stage play incoporating dance, drama, poetry, choir and step with guest artist Mr. Del from Memphis. Sat., Dec. 4: 7 P.M.: Battle of the Sexes, at the Student Life building. Workout attire recommended. Sun., Dec. 5: Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. with Worship at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and H.Y.P.E. Holy Ball 7 P.M. at UC Ballroom. $5 for buffet.
