It has come to The Pacer staff’s attention that members of the university’s maintenance crew are having a difficult time keeping auditoriums and labs clean. The Pacer has been asked to remind students not to bring food and beverages into any room that has a posted sign saying, “No food or drinks allowed.” That includes computer labs and auditorium areas such as the one in Gooch Hall. Maintenance staff say it is difficult to get the vacuum cleaners and extraction machines between the rows of chairs in the auditorium and around the tables in the labs. Given that the current state budget crisis is likely to affect the number of maintenance staff available, and that their job loads may increase, students are asked to do all they can to make everyone’s job easier.
