UTM hosts Career Day

A well-attended UTM Career Day took place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 7 in the Boling University Center featuring a wide variety of exhibits for future-seeking college students.

Everything from medical and military services to agricultural and financial institutions were well represented to answer questions from eager attendants.

The Career Day program allows students an inside opportunity to make contacts that would otherwise be difficult to obtain. Not only were students able to gain knowledge of “what’s out there,” but the experience also allowed attendants to arrange pre-graduate interviews with numerous company representatives.

“This is the first time that I attended this program and I have to say that it’s much easier and more beneficial trying to make contacts this way.

“It’s reassuring to know that businesses are looking for us too. I think it wouldn’t be smart to ignore this opportunity, especially if you’re an upper classman,” said J. D. Kelly, UTM Career Day attendant.
