UTM fraternity sponsors scholarship

Are you looking for another way to help pay for school without having to pay it back after graduating?

If so, be sure to apply for a $300 2005 Zeta Chi Alumni Scholarship sponsored by the Zeta Chi chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity at UTM. The deadline is Friday, March 4.

The qualifications are simple. To be eligible, an applicant must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and cannot be a graduating senior (May or August 2005). Applicants should pick up the scholarship packet at the UC Information Desk or from Tenna Bynum, a secretary in the Business Administration Building. The packet gives specific instructions on completing it and ensuring that the applicant is qualified.

Each applicant should also get an official, sealed transcript from the Registrar’s Office in the Administration Building, and should type a three-page paper on a controversial problem on college campuses and suggest a solution. An applicant should also attach a head-shot photograph (with a paper clip) of himself or herself at the top left of the paper and include a full name written neatly on the back of the photo. Make sure an organized resume also is included.

Enclose the completed scholarship application, a resume, a transcript, and the three-page paper in a sealed envelope addressed to Alpha Kappa Psi, using the exact address provided in the packet. Give the sealed packet to Bynum in the Business Administration Building by 4 p.m. Friday, March 4. The scholarship winner will be announced next week.
