UTM celebrates world cultures

The International Student Association (ISA) is inviting student organizations and individuals to participate in a wide assortment of activities, highlighting the 28th Annual International week.

Each academic college will host a collection of speakers and events, ranging from food tasting to dance presentations, detailed on page 4 of this newspaper.

One such event is a talent, fashion and dance competition, set to take place on April 7 in the University Center's Duncan Ballroom. The show will be in the form of a contest featuring different teams representing student organizations and individuals.

The theme of the fashion show is 'Spring around the World', and the most creative, colorful, and stylish demonstration will be awarded a prize. A student organization or an individual can participate in both the fashion and the talent shows, or choose only one contest if they prefer. The participants in the fashion and talent shows are encouraged to put together an entertaining 5-10 minute demonstration accompanied by music and commentary.

The fashion and the talent components will be judged and awarded separately. The entry fee for those willing to participate in the contests is $10. The fashion/talent show will be followed by a party with dance music from all over the world and will include several live performances. Refreshments will be served.

For those attending the event, the cover charge will be $3. Tickets will be available at the information desk in the University Center prior to the event and at the door.

Student organizations will receive letters of invitation with enrollment forms by mail. Individuals or groups of students without any affiliation will be able to pick up the forms at the Office of Multicultural Affairs at x7282.
