University Trio to perform


The University Trio, consisting of flutist Elaine Harriss, clarinetist Michael Walsh, and pianist Delana Easley, will present a program of chamber music at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 7, in the Harriet Fulton Theatre at UTM.

The trio’s program will include Sonatine en trio by Florent Schmitt, Trio No. 31 in G Major by Joseph Haydn, Three Seasons by Andrew Arvin, and Entr’acte by Alfred Quensel.

In addition to these pieces, Harriss and Walsh will peform John Rutter’s duet, Three American Miniatures.

Dr. Harriss, associate professor of music at UTM, received a doctorate from the University of Michigan and served as principal flutist in the Jackson and Paducah Symphony Orchestras for a total of 25 years.

Walsh, instructor of woodwinds at UTM, earned two degrees from the University of Miami, and has played with the Paducah and Nashville Orchestras.

Easley, staff accompanist for UTM, is active as a soloist and collaborative pianist in the area.

There is no admission charge and the public is invited.
