There are different answers besides war

People say that war is wrong; there are other answers to the problem other than war. I agree. Every other avenue should be pursued before even a single troop is sent. What must also be understood though, is that we, along with every other nation, are fighting a constant war, only in a different proportion.

In the democratic world, the police fight the hidden wars; they are the ones who fight and keep underfoot the element who use violence to rule over others. It is almost with ease that people can say killing others is wrong in any situation because they have rarely, if ever, had to defend themselves or their loved ones against an intruder.

In a case of war, that is only a situation where the bully was allowed too much ground to prepare against the police.

Ignoring the problem will not make it go away. Talking about the problem up til now has not done any good either. The situation was brought to our own backyard. It is no longer about the damage done to another country, this is our country that is being tested, along with our values, ethics, and freedoms as a nation.

We can not allow the bad to surpass the good. Our forefathers fought and bled; and from that blood a nation was built that has become one of the most powerful in history - but it all started with a war. It started with those who could not stand tyranny any longer, so they fought.

In honor of what they died for and gave us, and in honor of all those who have so far died in this country, and on foreign lands because of this situation, we as a nation, united, should stand and say enough, there will be no more hate, tyranny or fighting.

This is only a step in the process, it is not the end all. The United States must make sure that this war is fought with a definite goal in mind and that there are plans afterwards to help the country rebuild and to allow them to unite again as a nation.

If this is not done then this war would have had no purpose and those who fight and die deserve more honor than that. It must be remembered that freedom is not free; it is a perpetual war against those who desire more than their share, and it is fought by those who understand the responsibility that comes with this knowledge. Hate to say it, but in this case, that means us.
