The Show Must Go On

It seemed from the very beginning that the choir had to deal with a few complications that might keep the Spring Choral Concert from happening.

First of all they had to be relocated from the Harriet Fulton Theater to a room in the back of the building. This meant they had to move risers, the piano, and supply chairs for the guests to sit in. If that wasn’t enough, the lights flickered three times about half way through the concert and finally went out. This was the cause of a transformer blowing.

The director, Dr. Kevin Lambert asked if they wanted to continue and they said yes. The concert continued with people holding flashlights so the choir could see their music These complications didn’t seem to bother the choir.

They sang many beautiful songs. They opened with a Latin piece, In dulci jubilo, which was arranged by their very own Dr. Lambert. This was a pretty song that was sung acappella. Much of the music sung was acappella.

The women’s chorus, directed by Ms. Judith Sullivan also sang a few pieces. These harmonious pieces were songs that were sung acappella. They did a great job.

The evening ended with a finale of a few humorous short pieces. The last song was a solo by Dr. Lambert with the choir singing back up. During the last song the lights came back on. The choir should be applauded for their dedication to carry on despite the inconveniences.
