The Pacer, SPJ to hold Adobe Creative Suite workshop

The Pacer, UTM’s student newspaper, in association with the Society of Professional Journalists will conduct an Adobe Creative Suite seminar scheduled for 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 6 and 7 titled “Newspaper Design Crash Course.” Both sessions will be in the Communications News Writing Lab (308 Gooch) on campus.

Topics will include the six applications that make up the Creative Suite, with special emphasis on InDesign, an industry standard desktop publishing application. The instructor for the course will be Stephen Yeargin, SPJ president and second-year Executive Editor of The Pacer.

While not required, prospective applicants for next fall’s newspaper staff are strongly encouraged to attend one or both of these sessions or make arrangements for an alternative training session. Space is limited to the first 20 registrations. There is no cost for these sessions.

For more information or to register, contact Stephen Yeargin at (731) 881-7780 or e-mail at spj@mars.utm.edu.
