‘The BORED’ protests SGA elections

Group destroys campaign posters; candidates do not press charges

A group of students removed campaign posters, signs and fliers from academic buildings on Thursday. Public Safety has identified the individuals who were responsible.

Dusty Dean, presidential candidate for SGA, says that when he entered the Humanities building at 9 a.m. Thursday, he noticed that campaign material for all candidates had been removed.

The only things remaining in Humanities were the words “The Bored” spelled out in duct tape and a flier that said “Bureau of Radical Evening Demons – The Bored are already here. Idle hands are the devil’s workshop. And no... We won’t kill dolphins. But koalas are fair game.”

The Pacer has spoken to individuals who have said that a group of students carrying black garbage bags and wearing surgical masks were seen near the campaign material.

"These people have worked hard and this is not very respectful to the candidates," says Elections Commissioner Beth Parnell.

The Office of Public Safety says that any criminal charges to be filed will depend on the outcome of the on going investigation.
