'The Bored' Identified

Members of 'The Bored' have been unmasked by the Office of Public Safety (OPS) and referred to Student Affairs.

'Bored' members told police they were protesting the problems occurring within SGA and the number of campaign signs that had been placed in academic buildings.

Officers viewed the security cameras in Humanities after complaints were filed that campaign materials had been stolen. Officers were able to identify one of those involved as Lee Morgan, 18, of Memphis. Morgan told the police that two other men were involved.

On April 2, Brandon Bailey, 19, of Union City and Nicholas Tatum, 19, of Milan came to the OPS and admitted their involvement in removing the signs.

The three men were advised by the OPS to seek other ways to express their views.

The men were referred to Student Affairs with no criminal charges brought against them. Restitution for the damaged signs may be sought through Student Affairs.
