The University of Tennessee at Martin Rifle Invitational and Ohio Valley Conference Rifle Championship is currently under way in the Skyhawk Rifle Range on campus in Martin. Twelve teams are competing in the invitational and conference championship.

Among the teams competing are the University of Memphis, Ole Miss, Missouri-Kansas City, Saint Louis University, the University of Alabama-Birmingham, Mercer and Centenary. Competing for the OVC championship is Murray State, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee-Martin, Austin Peay and Morehead State.

Teams started shooting Wednesday morning and will shoot through Sunday.

The event is open to the public and admission is free. UT Martin will shoot tonight (Thursday) at 8.

Several junior teams are also shooting in the invitational. Among those teams are Saint Louis High School, Hazel Green High School, Owensboro, Ky. High School and the Volunteer Rifle Club.

Weakley County 4-H shooters, Paige Henderson, Allison Price and Cody Perkins shot air rifles Tuesday night to open the meet.
