Students pull together for 101st Airborne

Many students came out to support and give back to the men and women that are serving their country across seas. The Panhellenic Council teamed up with the Interfraternity Council (IFC) for this Spring philanthropy project.

The project came through the philanthropy officers on both councils and a number of the other officers felt that a project benefiting the soldiers was very appropriate at this time.

This philanthropy project was named Project Troops. The council members asked for donations by groups, individuals and companies in the community. Many items were collected, including powdered drinks, hard candy, nutrition bars, non-perishable foods, baby wipes, magazines, non-scented lotions, etc.

Almost $1500 worth of goods were collected and were distributed to the families and the troops of the 101st Airborne, Fort Campbell.

The Panhellenic Council and IFC would like to thank the following organizations for donating items: Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Tau Omega, Kappa Alpha Order, Zeta Tau Alpha, Chi Omega, Alpha Omicron Pi, Gamma Kappa Pi, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Pi Kappa Alpha, Wal-Mart, The Sun Shop, Calla Lily of Union City, and Sodexho.
