Volleyball still ranked #1

For four weeks in a row now, the UT Martin volleyball team has been ranked number one in the OVC. The volleyball team gets a big “Hoo Rah” from all the Pacer staff. Keep up the good work ladies, and good job Coach Rushing! Students come out and support your Volleyball team on Friday night at seven when they play against Tennessee State.

Cross Country team holding first home meet

The UT Martin cross country team is holding their first ever home meet here in Martin on Saturday morning. The races begin at 9 a.m. The women will race first and the men second. Coach Jason McKinney is looking forward to a great turn out of teams. So, students, come out and support your cross country team. You’ve seen them running in the rain, snow, and sun; you may have even harassed them for doing so half naked. Now, come cheer them on!

Pacer Player of the Week

Eleanor Shearman of the UTM women’s tennis team helped defeat the University of Evansville 4-3 Tuesday afternoon at the Skyhawk Tennis Complex. With the victory, the Skyhawks move to 2-0 on the year.

Shearman a Sophomore Health and Human Performance major from Bristol, England was also ranked in the top 20 tennis players in England. Since her recruitment by coach Dennis Taylor Shearman has shown many qualities in a great tennis player and teammate. Good job Eleanor, and keep it up.
