Sodexho brings cajun food, fun to UTM with ‘The Eatertainment Series’

The Sodexho kicked off its first event of the school year, “The Eatertainment Series,” one of many to come on Tuesday, Sept. 10 in the UC cafeteria.

The theme for the event was the Austrian Outback. There was a mixture of spicy foods to try, from the barbeque sandwich with a variety of spicy sauces to the exotic outback burger. With the large variety of food to choose from, something was sure to fit anyone's appetite.

There was a sense of the outback when it came to the decorative decorations and the straw hats that the employees were wearing. On the tables were pamphlets on campus survival tips. Prizes were also given away that tied in with the outback theme.

“Another school year has began and we are trying to bring some variety into the menu. This is the students' home away from home when it comes to eating, so we are trying to make it exciting,” said marketing and special project coordinator, Rosemary Jacobs.

“I thought the food was different and fun. I really enjoyed the different sauces there were to choose from for the barbeque sandwich,” said senior Human Learning K-8 major from Brentwood, Adrienne Lee.

Karen Shaw, junior Nursing major from Collierville, said she enjoyed the decorations and the music. “It brought a new atmosphere to the place.”
