The UTM women’s cross country team has been named among the Women’s Intercollegiate Cross Country Coaches Association 2003 Academic All American Cross Country Teams.

UTM is 23rd in the nation in overall grade point averages (GPA) with a 3.492. Schools must earn a 3.25 team GPA or higher to have this distinction.

UTM was one of two teams in the Ohio Valley Conference in the top 25, nationally. Samford finished 16th, and Eastern Kentucky was 77th.

UTM student-athletes Micky Dobson and Douglas Nicodemus were the only two baseball players to receive the prestigious Ohio Valley Conference Academic Medal of Honor for their work during the 2002-03 academic year.

Of the 76 student-athletes who earned an academic medal of honor this year, 74 achieved a perfect 4.0 gpa. Both Dobson and Nicodemus were among the athletes to earn a 4.0 gpa.
