SGA president talks of prayers, names those who are gone

Fellow Students,

As you may know our nation is in a state of concern. With the upcoming efforts of diplomacy towards foreign nations, military personnel of all types were called to duty.

Some of our own UTM students were called upon to serve for their nation. This is a recognition of their duty.

Keep these individuals in your prayers along with all who are serving our country.

“Eight members of the Tennessee National Guard, who also are University of Tennessee at Martin students, have been called to active military duty,” said university spokesperson Bud Grimes.

Those receiving assignments, all from Tennessee, are: Ronald Buckley, Big Sandy; Joseph Dacus, Dukedom; Steven Martin, Centerville; Juan Romero, Bruceton; Steven Tucker, Selmer; Ronnie Johnson, Martin; Timothy Edelstein, Humboldt; and Scarlett Wells, Martin.

“We are proud of these and other UT Martin students who are serving our country during this difficult and dangerous time,” said Dr. Nick Dunagan, UT Martin chancellor. “We will keep them in our thoughts and prayers, and we look forward someday soon to welcoming them back home and to the university.”
