Second annual technology showcase labeled a success

On Feb. 26, UTM hosted the second annual technology showcase in the UC.

The Technology Showcase is an outlet for UTM to show both campus and community the various ways faculty and departments use technology in and out of the classroom.

Another benefit to the showcase is that it gives those attending the opportunity to meet UTM’s computer hardware and software vendors face-to-face. Also, the computer store’s latest products are on display.

The showcase was sponsored by the UT Martin Instructional Technology Center (ITC) and the UT Martin Computer Store. Corporate sponsors included Howard Computers, Apple, Gateway and Dell.

“Once again our campus and our community showed great interest and supuport for our Technology Showcase. We are always pushing the technology envelope at UT Martin, and the annual showcase is our chance to show everyone just how innovative we are and how dedicated we are to providing the very best to our faculty, staff and students,” said Steve Holt, manager of the Instructional Technology Center (ITC).

Another feature of the showcase was door prizes. Door prizes were given away from Palm, Handspring, Logitech, Epson and many others. Some of the products given away included small computer accessories, printers, scanners and a Palm Pilot.
