Schmo Knows

Well, another week gone by, and another baseball deal. Greg Maddux will finish his baseball career with the Chicago Cubs, the team he started with. Good for you, Greg; sorry the Cards couldn’t pick him up, Dr. Dan.

Intramurals are still going on. Basketball is winding down, and Softball is on the way. There are a lot of good games going on out there, go watch and enjoy.

Moving on, the Yankees signed A-Rod. Who cares? Another ball player or team grubbing for money is nothing new. I’m not allowed to rant on this though, because my assistant plans on doing it in her column.

In college basketball, St. Joe’s is the real deal. Many skeptics are naysaying these guys, I say look for them to go gold come March. St. Joseph’s has been underrated for years, now they are proving they belong.

The NFL has taken the court ruling, which allows high-school and young college men to try out for teams, back to court trying to get it overturned. I think that some big name athletes are scared they may loose their jobs to guys 10 years their junior. I hope the ruling stands and maybe causes the salaries of some of these overpaid babies to drop.

Well, that’s all the ranting for this week. Got anything to gripe about, email me at pacer_sports@mars.utm.edu</A>.

Till next week, see ya around and have fun.
