SAC sponsored comedian gets mixed student reviews

Last night, SAC invited comedian Alonzo Boden to come and give the UTM students something to laugh about.

This event took place in the Watkins Auditorium where students still came out, provided that the weather was not so great.

Alonzo is from New York, but he resides in L.A. now where he used to fix airplanes for a living until he found out that he made people laugh.

In the interview with Alonzo, he stated that he has been doing standup for 10 years, but only full time the last six years.

He has appeared on the television show Comedy Central. He also stated that he just loves to make people laugh, and he did Thursday night.

So for those of you that thought the weather was too bad, or just decided you had better things to do, you missed a great show by a very funny comedian.

I had a chance to speak with a couple of people after the show just to get their insight on the comedian.

“I only came because I had nothing else to do and this guy really surprised meby putting on a great show,” said B.J. Stevenson.

Tiffany Banks stated that she was glad she came to hear the comedian, otherwise she would have missed out on a really good comedian.

I also spoke with some students who really thought the comedian could have stayed where he was at.

So, without mentioning their names, some of the comments were as quoted: “this guy was one of the worst, if not the worst comedian ever.”

Also one person said that “I hope this guy is not getting paid.”
