Robin Williams doesn’t develop bad plotline in ‘One Hour Photo’

Those without real families will often become obsessed with the ones that aren’t their’s.

One Hour Photo takes a look into the truly disturbed mind of a middle-aged manager of a photo developing department at a SavMart.

Sy Parrish (Robin Williams) has worked in the photo department for the past 11 years and knows most of the people who get their photos developed at SavMart. He is obsessed with one family in particular, the Yorkin family.

Nina Yorkin (Connie Nielsen) has brought their family pictures to Sy ever since Jake (Dylan Smith III) was born.

Every time Nina brings in family pictures to develop, Sy always makes an extra copy of the sets to keep for himself.

Plastered on a wall in his empty apartment is every single picture that the Yorkins have ever developed.

As the movie progresses, viewers are able to see Sy’s psychotic mind at work. He always eats at this one particular diner and shows off the pictures of the Yorkins as his own family.

He stalks Nina and accidentally bumps into her at the mall. He begins reading the same book that she is reading. He goes to Jake’s soccer practices just to see Jake playing soccer.

On one afternoon, Sy recognizes a woman who comes in to have her pictures developed. Although, he can’t place where he knows her from right then, he later realizes what is happening.

The woman plays a very important part in the betrayal of the Yorkin family.

Sy loses his job and plans revenge on all those who have taken advantage of him.

The movie was indeed an interesting one to watch, but the first half of the movie is very slow and doesn’t seem to have much of point to it.

The second half of the movie does get interesting only because Sy is on a rampage and curiosity keeps viewers watching to see exactly what he will do.

Robin Williams does a great job in the movie, just like all the other movies he’s in.

The movie is classified as a thriller, but one cannot really tell where the thriller part comes into play.

At times, it seems like you’re sitting there watching a documentary on the life of a photo manager.

Critics have given this movie outstanding reviews, but this reviewer didn’t see what the hype was all about.
