Remember year events with CD

The Broadcasting Guild of UTM is selling a multimedia CD-ROM entitled Worldview Interactive: 2001-2002 A Year in Review.

This CD-ROM archives the events of the 2001-2002 year using a wide variety of media, including pictures and audio. It was compiled by Time Warner, CNN and Yearbook Interactive.

The CD not only deals with national and world news, but also notable events in sports and entertainment.

Broadcast Guild member Kevin Shell discussed the CD.

“I want people to not only have a record of the tragic events of the year, but also to have a portrait of the many things that were taking place in America during this very historic year. (2001-2002),” said Shell.

It includes a wide variety of newsworthy events. The stories covered range from the hunt for Osama bin Laden to the Anthrax scares, from the Salt Lake City Olympics to the Super Bowl.

The biggest draw, though, may be its coverage of the attacks on the World Trade Center. When asked what people would find most interesting on the CD, Shell said “probably the CNN coverage of the Events of 9-11.”

Worldview contains more than 15 minutes of news clips on the CD, which range in subject from September 11 to Tiger Woods.

However, Worldview isn't all serious news. It not only contains the aforementioned sports coverage, but also lots of entertainment news. It contains popular commercials as well as movie trailers for Shrek, Spiderman, Lord of the Rings and many other of the year's blockbusters.

The CDs are $10 each. For information about ordering, send an e-mail to the UTM Broadcasting Guild at broadcasting_guild@yahoo.com.
