Record highs shot at Withrow Invitational


The UT Martin rifle team turned in its best smallbore score of the season at the recent Roger Withrow Invitational at Murray State's Pat Spurgin Rifle Range.

The Skyhawk team of Devra Harvey, Amanda Karns, Byron Godbee and Jessie Wilson turned in a score of 4,443. The tally was good enough for 10th place.

Harvey, just a freshman, led the team with an 1,131. Karns turned in her season-best with a score of 1,115, while Wilson also recorded her season-high at 1,092. Godbee shot a 1,105.

Brian Stiles, Becky Latimer and Rachel Toy also shot at Murray, but they were not squadded. All three turned in career-high scores. Stiles shot 1,094; Latimer had 1,089; and Toy shot 997.

Tennessee Tech won the smallbore team competition, while Murray State finished second.

In the air rifle competition, the Skyhawk shooters finished 10th. Jennie Fladebo led the team with a 385, Godbee had a 376, while Wilson turned in a 375. Karns fired a 372 to give the team a total of 1,508.

Toy competed as an unsquadded shooter and turned in a career-high 357.

Tennessee Tech won the air rifle competition, while the University of Kentucky's Blue team was second. Ohio State's scarlet team was third. Tennessee-Martin finished ninth.

Ohio State's Abhiveet Konduskar won the air rifle competition with a 394.
