The third annual Little Mr. and Miss UTM pageant was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 27 in the Watkins Auditorium. This event was sponsored by UTM’s Public Relations Students Society of America (PRSSA) chapter.

The emcee for the pageant was Bud Grimes, Director of University Relations for UTM.

There were four categories that a contestant could enter to win. First, there was a Bitty Miss UTM which ranged from ages 0-23 months.

Tiny Miss UTM was a category for girls between the ages of 2-4 years old. Then there was Little Miss UTM with contestants ranging from 5-7 years old.

Last, but not least, was the Little Mr. UTM for boys ages 1-5 years old. There were also awards given for Most Photogenic and Best Dressed.

The winner of the Bitty Miss UTM was Avery Johnson of Union City and runner-up was Avery Grace Newsom.

Maggie Chandler was the winner in the Tiny Miss UTM category. Chandler is from Gleason and is three years old.

The title of Little Miss UTM went to Amanda Lund of Martin. Bailey Papszycki also of Martin placed second in Little Miss. Cody Crick was our winner for Little Mr. UTM. He is 2 years old and is from Martin.

The Best Dressed award went to Bailey Papszycki, and the most Photogenic award went to Holly Davidson. All the winners of each category received a trophy.

Little Mr. UTM, Cody Crick, and Little Miss UTM, Amanda Lund, were asked to be in the Miss UTM pageant coming up soon. There they will help pass out flowers to Miss Soybean and Miss UTM.

“I’m glad that we can continue the tradition of joining the youth in the community with the university,” said Chris Long, president of PRSSA.
