Pi Sigma Epsilon will hold contest to find first ‘UTM Idol’

Pi Sigma Epsilon, which is a sales and marketing business fraternity, is hosting a UTM Idol Show. The event will take place March 22-23 from 6-9 p.m. and March 24 from 6-8 p.m. Contestants will sing in Watkins auditorium.

The process will be conducted just like American Idol. There will be no official judges; the students will determine the winner.

Students will be able to go online and vote for their favorite contestant. The Web address and more details will be announced at the actual event.

The winner of UTM Idol will receive a trophy and the opportunity to sing on the local radio station.

They are also looking for anyone who is interested to entertain at intermission.

All those who are interested in participating in UTM Idol should turn in a registration form by March 12 to Room 102 in the Business Building.

The entry fee is $15 and $1 for all spectators. The proceeds from this event will go to benefit Cystic Fibrosis and they have a goal to raise $500.

“We hope that all students and people from the Weakley County area will come and support us and the competitors, we anticipate this event to be very fun and to raise a lot of money for our philanthropy,” said president Amy Watson.

They encourage everyone to get involved in this event to raise money for a good cause. Even if you can’t sing, don’t forget to come out and support those who think they can!
