Pi Sigma Epsilon recognized at national convention

Recently at the PSE (Pi Sigma Epsilon) National Convention in Reno, Delta Xi received 15 chapter awards and brought recognition to the University of Tennessee at Martin.

Four members became certified officers: Rebecca McKee, Jacob Smith, Kendrick Edwards, and Amy Watson. They competed for Top Chapter, Top Marketing Research, Top Service Project, and Top Project Manager.

In all areas they received the finalist award which is an honor since out of 43 chapters they had the top 4 entries. Delta Xi was also recognized for Silver Status, its 15 year anniversary, and CBS simulation game top 5. Amy Watson received the Mu Kappa Tau scholarship ($1000), most valuable member, SMEI essay scholarship ($500), and scholarship finalist award.

The convention not only benefited the individuals attending but also benefited the Chapter and the University as a whole. Members attended various workshops every day, presented at least two presentations to the board for national competition, networked with other chapters, maximized the career fair opportunities, and had fun.

This was an amazing learning experience for them personally, with their individual goals, and for the entire chapter's long term and short term goals. The convention gave them a vision of where their chapter needs to go and the steps to get there. It is now time to motivate the members and implement what was learned.
