Non-degree courses for February include etiquette, signing


The UTM office of extended campus and continuing education (ECCE) will offer a variety of non-degree courses that get under way in February.

The courses are:

• Microsoft PowerPoint – In this course, students will learn how to create effective presentations. Add text, notes and graphics. Learn to use navigation, templates, custom animation, transition and how to edit a slide show, plus many more tools and tips.

Easily create a professional presentation and enjoy the process.

This course will meet from 9 a.m.-noon Feb. 27. The course fee is $45.

The instructor is Shannon Burgin, interim director of UTM Computer Services.

• Sign Language for Beginners – This course is designed for students with little to no sign language experience. Participants should gain a basic knowledge of signed English to prepare them for more advanced courses.

This class will meet from 5:30-7 p.m., Thursdays, Feb. 27-April 10.

The instructor is Carrie Crittendon.

• Etiquette in the Work Place – Improve your skills in the 21st century marketplace. Learn to make proper introductions and greetings.

Explore the etiquette of electronic communications, and learn how to put your best fork forward at the business meal.

This workshop will be offered from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 20 or from 9:30-11:30 a.m. March 22. The course fee is $25.

The instructor is Janice Goodpasture.
