New season of ‘Queer as Folk’ series begins

The third season of Queer as Folk began this month with its season premiere this past Sunday evening.

Once again, the group of friends return for this new season with interesting developments between Ted (Scott Lowell) and Emmett (Peter Paige).

In the finale of season two, the two friends were just beginning to feel an attraction for one another at the Rage comic book release party.

Everyone seemed to believe that the two have had sex, but ironically enough, they haven’t. In fact, they are afraid of stepping over the boundaries of their friendship.

Towards the end of the episode, the two friends do end up sleeping with one another, risking their friendship for love. Justin (Randy Harrison) and Brian’s (Gale Harold) relationship had fallen apart towards the end of last season. In this episode, the two have officially parted ways and Justin moves out of Brian’s apartment.

Justin is now with Ethan (Fabrizio Filippo), someone who can show Justin the love that he needs.

The breakup between Brian and Justin causes tension between the group and Brian and also tension between Justin and Michael (Hal Sparks).

A few words were said by Michael to cause Justin to cut himself off from the circle of friends completely.

Justin rejoins the group with encouragement from Debbie (Sharon Glass), Melanie (Michelle Clunie) and Lindsay (Thea Gill).

Melanie and Lindsay celebrate their eighth year anniversary in this episode with a party where Justin and Brian see each other.

It is at this party that Michael says a little too much to anger Brian causing him to punch him. Because of this, the group starts to hate Brian.

Michael and Ben (Robert Gant) also begin some new developments in their relationship. The two decide to move in together and stay at Michael’s apartment.

If you missed the season premiere, a repeat of the episode will air at 9 p.m. on March 23 on Showtime.

Queer as Folk, season three, is on at 9 p.m. every Sunday evening on Showtime.

The show is rated TV-MA for strong sexual content, mild violence, graphic language and adult themes.
