New Pacer Singers keep busy performing local concerts

New Pacer Singers is an auditioned, select chamber choral group. At many times the New Pacer Singers are called upon to perform at university functions and area high schools, as well as performing their own concerts. The organization provides scholarships for its members based on the enrollment of the group. New Pacer Singers mostly sing for entertainment purposes such as banquets.

This year the New Pacer Singers have performed for perspective University Scholar high school students. They have also performed group and solo numbers at Desert Evening, which is a fundraiser for the music department. They have also performed at a faculty banquet, participated in a montage concert for the public and honor band/choir and attended a choir tour at different Tennessee high schools. They have also performed at the engineering banquet in the Spring, sang for the Haywood alumni chapter and held their annual Spring concert.

“I’ve really enjoyed having the opportunity to use my talents to serve the University. It’s a lot of fun, I love to sing and it is a great way for me to do what I have a passion for,” said Lauren Brannon, a senior New Pacer Singer from Alamo, Tenn.
