Major prizes at UTM Rodeo


Darty Trailer Sales, located in Milan, Tenn., has graciously donated a stock trailer to the UTM rodeo team.

For the past four years, UTM rodeo team has been working with Darty Trailer Sales on the annual trailer giveaway. The trailer donated this year is a red, two-horse stock combination, with chrome wheels.

This trailer will be given away Saturday night, April 12, during the championship performance of the 35th annual UTM Intercollegiate Rodeo. Donations for a chance to win are currently being taken. One chance is $5 or you can get six chances for $25.

Brawner's Boots, located in Greenfield, Tenn., recently donated a Circle Y show saddle to the UTM rodeo team. This saddle, valued at $1,600, will be given away at the 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 11th performance of the 35th annual UT Martin rodeo.

Along with the saddle, a matching headstall and saddle pad will be included in the giveaway. This dark walnut saddle is beautifully tooled with silver trim.

Donations are currently being taken at this time. You may make a donation of $2 for one chance or $5 for three chances. Rodeo fans will alsohave a chance to win a $35,000 Dodge Truck at the 35th annual UTM Spring College Rodeo April 10-12 at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Complex on campus.

Registration for the new Dodge truck is currently under way. You can register to win the truck by test driving a new truck at Taylor Automotive in Martin. Registration will also be available all three nights during the UTM rodeo.

One name will be drawn at the UTM rodeo and the winner will be presented with a Montana Silversmith Buckle. The winner's name will then be included in the drawing for the truck at the National Finals Rodeo set for December in Las Vegas. Dodge sponsors 350 professional rodeos and one name from each rodeo will be included in the drawing for the truck at the National Finals Rodeo. The UTM spring rodeo is the only college rodeo sponsored by Dodge.

Advance tickets for the rodeo are on sale now at several Northwest Tennessee locations, including Woods Communications Cellular Source and Weakley Farmers Co-op in Martin; Fairview Saddlery in Dresden; The Cowboy Store in Clarksburg; Weakley Farmers Co-op in WoodsCommunication Cellular Source in Union City; and Brawner Boots in Greenfield.

Advance ticket prices are $7 each for adults. Children ages 5 and under are free with a paid adult. UTM students, high school students and all other children are $5 each. A weekend pass good for all three nights of the rodeo, April 10-12, is also available for $15.

Advance tickets are good for Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12. Performances start each night at 7:30. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The rodeo opens at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 10. All tickets are $5 each and are only available at the door. Children, ages 9 and under, are free with a paid adult.
