John Berry presents ‘An American Christmas’ concert in Jackson, Tenn.

That’s how critics describe John Berry.

West Tennesseeans can hear for themselves when one of the most successful holiday Christmas tours makes a return visit to Jackson, Tennessee.

JEA presents John Berry’s An American Christmas at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec 18 at the Ned.

Berry is best known for his record-breaking hit Your Love Amazes Me. But, his annual Christmas tours are where he really shines.

“John is very humble,” said Jack Walker, Director of Event Marketing. “He told me the people pay their money to hear him hit the high note on O’Holy Night. He’s absolutely right.”

Berry was named the 2001 Mainstream Country Artist of the Year by the Christian Country Music Association.

He has also been nominated for a Grammy as Best Male Vocalist and for the same honor by the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music.

The 2002-2003 Budweiser / Jackson Sun Season Series, overflowing with variety, includes the highly acclaimed Vienna Choir Boys; the contemporary dance sensation, the Paul Taylor 2 Dance Company; and, one of the most remarkable voices in bluegrass, John Cowan.

Also scheduled are: Bill Oberst in his one-man tribute to Lewis Grizzard; one of the hottest jazz bands in the country, Lavay Smith and the Red Hot Skillet Lickers; and, the international theatrical sensation, Smoke on the Mountain.
