If you don't like the smoke cloud, try holding your breath through it

I have an opinion about last week’s Pacer column “Note to Smokers”.

I am a smoker and I have to say that the column written by Marqueta Abraham was ridiculous!

There are definitely more non-smokers than smokers on this campus and personally I have never seen more than about five people at one time in front of an entrance way.

Furthermore there are NO “no smoking” signs outside of any building.

Smokers may not have the right to smoke in buildings anymore because of people with health problems but we certainly have the right to do it outside.

I don’t think any of the smokers form an unbreakable chain in front of any of the buildings and refuse students entry the way Marqueta Abraham described it in her article.

And the smoke from people’s cigarettes certainly DO NOT cloud others vision.

Also I can guarantee that walking by a group of smokers is not going to make you smell like smoke the rest of the day unless you puposely stand in the middle of them for a peiod of time.

Marqueta Abraham proposed that the smokers move locations.

Well I propose if you have a problem with that three-second walk through the smoke, hold your breath!
