Hall receives scholarship

Ms. Bridgit Hall, of Bradford, Tn, is a junior Travel and Tourism major at The University of Tennessee at Martin. She recently received a $500 tuition scholarship in honor of the late Robert Ellis.

Mr. Ellis was an elderly Travel and Tourism major before he passed away two years ago this February. He was a retired shipping engineer and he resided in the Paris, Tn region. After he retired, he worked for Opryland in Nashville, Tn operating a steam ship named “The General.”

According to Geography professor Helmut Wenz, “Mr. Ellis was a jovial, happy go lucky guy and he has been greatly missed by many!”

Members of the Ellis family contributed the money for this scholarship and it is currently being funded by the Travel and Tourism faculty.

The scholarship is only available to Travel and Tourism majors.

If you are interested in applying, contact Professor Helmut Wenz. He will be accepting applications next spring.
