Go out and support UTM athletes

Hello UTM students! This is a public service announcement from Eric Lester and the SGA.

I am a Senator from the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences.

Just one week ago our Skyhawk football team got their season off to a good start by defeating Southern Baptist 19-18.

Our women's soccer team also won their first game 2-1 against the University of Louisville.

Also of note, the Lady Skyhawk volleyball team made a journey west to California, as well as our cross country teams.

The point is that as students here is that our teams are competitive and they need our support to take their game to the next level and start competing for OVC honors.

The cross country team will be hosting a race on October 12, the first since I’ve been on campus.

More details will be in future issues of the Pacer.

Some of the best runners in the OVC are students here and they need your support.

Men’s and women’s basketball will open their seasons later this semester.

The UTM rifle team, the least known yet the most successful NCAA team over the last 20 years, has more home matches than they have had in the last five years.

Softball, baseball, golf, and the rodeo teams all have a chance to do very well this year and it will be made much easier with YOUR support.

So go out this year paint yourselves orange and blue and make lots of noise.

GO SKYHAWKS!
