Everyone gets two cents’ worth – now here’s mine

What can each candidate do to help me and those around me? If the Democrats want to comment about things Bush has done during his term as Commander-in-Chief, that’s fine but don’t bash the man - he’s only human and bound to make mistakes.

I think Bush could have done a better job but then again, anyone can do a better job at whatever it is they do. My life’s motto has been, “There’s always room for improvement.” He took a difficult situation (Sept. 11) and tried to make it better.

Calling for war in Iraq was a way to deal with that problem. We can’t let terrorists do as they wish to our country. It was a tough decision for him, but he has to do what he thinks is best.

I want our men and women in the armed forces home, they knew what they were getting themselves into when they enlisted. I could never do what they do and I thank them for the freedom they give by defending America.

Everyone thinks that he or she could do a better job but put yourself in Bush’s shoes. He did what he thought was best and what his advisors suggestions.

Am I for Bush? Too early to decide but since I gave my Republican opinion, next is the Democratic

Most of the Democrats look evil, with John Kerry as their leader. He has said some smooth things but I doubt he would stay true to his word if elected. He’s about as comforting as a pap smear.

Next is John Edwards. He is the least threatening. He worked hard to be a success. He has what it takes to be in the race because there is something trusting about him.

Howard Dean ranks with Kerry. After his scream fest on when he didn’t win a primary, I voted him out. America does not need a guy who throws a temper tantrum in office.

Dennis Kucinich is the guy who doesn’t get much limelight because Kerry and Dean are hogging it all. This former college professor is the closest thing to helping higher education. He may be education’s only hope for saving those who have what it takes to attend college but lack the funds.

Rev. Al Sharpton should just drop out of the race. He has come in last in the primaries and should put his focus onto other things, such as ministering. While his intentions are good, this isn’t the time that he should be tackling the office of President.

These are my thoughts on the Presidential elections. Feel free to submit yours at pacer_opinions@mars.utm.edu. Remember to get out there and vote so your voice WILL be heard.
