Diamond Rio shines radiantly 'One More Day' on country music charts

***** of 5

Everyone has a soundtrack for their lives.

Diamond Rio’s 2001 release "One More Day" is no exception. This album is the group’s seventh release. They have since released another album, entitled "Completely."

The hit country band has had eleven Grammy nominations, are four-time Country Music Association (CMA) Vocal Group of the Year, two-time Academy of Country Music (ACM) Vocal Group of the Year and have a long list of hit albums and hit songs to their credit.

The title track from this album is a number one hit on the country music charts. The song, many times played at funerals, Dale Earnhart’s for instance, or used to describe long distance relationships, has very heartfelt lyrics.

With lyrics like “One more day/One more time/One more sunset maybe I’d be satisfied/But then again I know what it would do/Leave me wishin’ still for one more day with you,” one cannot help but just choke up when listening to this song.

That song is my favorite off the entire album because of all thewonderful memories I associate with it; it simply means so much to me. I cannot help but smile and sometimes tear up whenever this song comes on the radio.

I cannot begin to describe what I feel inside when I hear the first line, “Last night I had a crazy dream.” When it comes on, I turn it up and belt out the song for the man I love.

Another song on the album that is sentimental is “You Make Me Feel.” This song simply describes the feelings one gets when in love. It is very poetic with words that compare love to drops of rain and sunlight on one’s skin.

Songs included on the album are “I’m Already Gone,” “I Could Do That With My Eyes Closed,” “That’s Just That,” “Here I Go Fallin’,” “The Love of a Woman,” “I’m Trying,” “Sweet Summer,” “Hearts Against the Wind” and “I Think I Love You.” The last song is not to be confused with the Partridge Family hit by the same name, it has completely different lyrics and is of much better quality.

Diamond Rio’s release "One More Day" can be found at any record store.
