Dave Matthews in Martin?

Act fast students, or this could pass by

(Editor's Note: This is an idea that the Student Activities Council has but for it to come about we HAVE TO HAVE 2,000 students go by the Skyhawk Card Office by 5 p.m. Monday.)

The Student Activities Council is prepared to make an offer for the Dave Matthews Acoustical Show that is touring in the south during the last week in March and in the first week of April. An offer lets the Dave Matthews management know that we will pay the necessary fees to secure the show on a certain date. There is no guarantee that the show will come to our campus. The Dave Matthews management will consider our offer and make a decision after considering all offers from other promoters and universities.

Due to the cost of this show, the SAC must be guaranteed that a minimum 2000 UT Martin students attend the show and pay as much as $49.50 a ticket. The 2000 number must be confirmed prior to the SAC making the offer.

Here is how it works: Starting Thursday, November 21, through Monday, November 25, go by the Skyhawk Card Office (hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) in the University Center with your Skyhawk Card. The card office staff will swipe your card into system. This will automatically charge your student account and will guarantee you your ticket if in fact Dave Matthews chooses to come to UT Martin. If he does not come, then your ticket purchase will be voided from your account and there will be no charges. If he does come, there will be no refunds.

If the group does in fact come, according to the time and date of your ticket purchase, you will receive the best available seat. You will be able to pick up your ticket at the CARD OFFICE at a time to be announced by the SAC. You will need your student ID to pick up your ticket.

There must be 2000 commitments made by Monday, November 25, by 5:00 p.m. or the SAC cannot make the offer.
