Christmas takes new twist in ‘Friday’ series

**1/2 of 5

The third take in the successful Friday series, Friday After Next takes place during the Christmas season back in the old neighborhood where it all began. Craig (Ice Cube) and his cousin Day Day (Mike Epps) have officially left the small sense of support that they had while living with their parents.

They end up living in an horrid apartment, and with the Christmas season present, their home is full of the holiday season cheer.

For the most part everything is normal…until a boot-leg Santa Claus breaks in and steals their Christmas presents and everything else he can mash into his sack, including the rent money that the boys kept hidden their household sound system stereo speakers.

This leaves Craig and Day-Day with two dileemas. They are faced with the harsh reality of a Christmas without presents and the threat of eviction if rent is not paid by day’s end, their only way of coming up with some fast and easy money is to go to the local strip mall where they land jobs as unarmed security guards.

In the process, Craig and Day-Day learn some lessons about the true meaning of the holiday season in a very funny manner.

The comedy is filled with many instances that a lot of people can relate to, especially during the holiday season.

True enough it was a good movie, but no matter how many Fridays come out, none will top the first.

But if you are Friday fan, then this is a movie that you must see, so that you can continue to get your rocks off.
