Chocolate Fest comes to UC

Students and student organizations are cordially invited to participate and partake in this year’s first annual Chocolate Fest on Thursday, Feb. 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the UC Ballroom.

The Student Activities Council is putting together a night of elegance for the students of UTM where they can come and try delicious chocolate treats, see chocolate art, participate in chocolate contests, and enjoy some music in a romantic atmosphere. The most important reason is to help raise money for John Nicholas White, a young boy who has gone through several open heart surgeries, an aortic transplant, and is currently under constant supervision.

They are asking each group to enter in two different categories.

The first is the chocolate art competition. Students can get as creative as they want and as big as they want, just remember the key ingredient-chocolate!

Entries will be judged throughout the night and cash prizes will be given.

The second category is the edible category where students are asked to bring their favorite chocolate creation. It can be any form of chocolate.

SAC also asks that participants bring a hundred bite-sized samples so that people who attend can try their treat.

This category will also be judged and awarded with cash prizes.

All students need to be sure to attend this fabulous event and enjoy the free treats.

SAC will be providing a chocolate sundae buffet, chocolate fondue, and other fine chocolate surprises.

Students will also have the opportunity to participate in contests that involve carving chocolate and eating pudding.
The funds for John Nicholas, the young boy, will be raised through donations made at each booth to student’s entries according to what people liked best.

The item that raises the most money will receive a special award and a private screening of a movie of their choice with popcorn in the Watkins Auditorium.

SAC asks that students bring big hearts and generosity with them as John Nicholas and his family need all the help they can get these days.

It is free to participate in the Chocolate Fest and applications can be picked up in Student Life. They are due back no later than Tuesday, Feb. 10.

All chocolate entries are required to be in the ballroom by 6:30 p.m. on the night of the Chocolate Fest.

SAC looks forward to having the participation of students and their organizations and hopes to make this a fun and successful event.
