Chi Omega grants wish

Jackson Roberts had a wish to go to Walt Disney World and meet super heroes. Saturday, the sisters of Chi Omega and their national philanthropy, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, made his wish come true. Jackson leaves on Sept. 10 to visit the “happiest place on earth.”

Roberts' wish was revealed to him at a surprise Spiderman-themed pizza party at the Chi Omega lodge. The sisters presented Jackson, 4, his brother Sean, 3, and his sister Lily, 1, with toys and games. Make-A-Wish volunteers visited Roberts to find out his favorite things. Pizza is his favorite food and he loves Spiderman and the Power Rangers. Chi Omega Wish shoppers tailored to his favorites.

While Roberts is in Orlando, he and his family will stay at Give Kids the World. Each week, Give Kids the World hosts Christmas and birthdays. Jackson will visit Sea World and Universal Studios during his stay. At Disney World, he will receive front-of-the-line access to all rides and character greets. He will be in Orlando for seven days.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation was created in 1980. Its purpose is to grant the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions.

Chi Omega teamed with Make-A-Wish nationally in 2000. The sisters of Chi Omega raise money to grant wishes each year by hosting the Mr. Greek Pageant, the Chi Omega Golf Tournament and other smaller fund-raisers. Roberts' wish is the second wish the sisters have granted this year.
