Carle Seale Awards given to two students


UT Martin Students Jacob Cross and Kendra Kosco recieved Carle Seale Awards for their potential in the teaching profession.The awards are given in memory of Dr. Carl Seale, who served the university from 1971 to 1992 in numerous capacities.

Recipients are chosen by the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences Scholarship Selection Committee from students with a major in education/teacher licensure, who have been nominated for exhibiting exceptional classroom instruction, excellence in classroom management, professionalism and potential for leadership in the teaching profession.

Cross, of Union City, is the son of Wendell and Kathy Cross of Knoxville, formerly of Union City, has a degree in communications and is pursuing a major in secondary history.

Kosco, of Herrin, Ill., is the daughter of Steve and Jennifer Kosco and is a health and human performance major. Kosco served as a student teacher at Longfellow Elementary School and Don Sparks Elementary School in Mayfield, Ky. Cross was a student teacher at Lake Road Elementary School in Obion County and Dyer County High School.
