"...but Amy knows better"

A column by Asst. Sports Editor Amy Eddings

After a week away from print, I’m back to rant about a wide array of topics that I’m relatively sure that no one really wants my opinion on. But, I’m trying to fill up some space on this page, so here there ya’ go.

First off, Go ‘Cats. I’m never more happy to bleed blue than when UK beats the Vols. Especially when they blow them out by 32! So maybe Lorenzen didn’t break Manning’s passing record, but that victory heals the wound...a little. (And just for the record, Vols fans, the all time series record is 132-62.)

Next, I’d like to congratulate the Lady Skyhawks on reaching the OVC tourney for the seventh year in a row. If only all of our teams could be so consistent.

Regrettably for me, I haven’t gotten a chance to see the baseball team play any this season. I’m sorry that I missed the battle of the bats that took place on Wednesday.

Apparently, there are classes taking place on this campus or something. Was anyone else aware of this fact? I just wish that UTM had come out on the winning end. Good luck against Bradley this weekend!

And this isn’t sports related, but what’s with the mannequin in 315 Gooch? I get freaked out every time I walk past there and see that naked “man” standing in the window. At least they finally dressed him so his “non-meaningful” bulge isn’t showing.

I’m sure that no one really noticed or cared, but I played around with the layout this week. Change is good for the soul, sometimes. Lemme know what you think about it and the sports page in general at pacer_sports@mars.utm.edu. Or, go the Pacer website and post something on the discussion boards.

Until next week: Go Skyhawks!
