Bullock, King team up for hilarious comedy in Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous

Every contestant in the Miss America pageant wishes for world peace—agent Gracie Hart returns in Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous to make sure that there is world peace, at least in Las Vegas.

After winning the title of Miss Congeniality, what is left to do besides return to work as an undercover field agent? Agent Gracie Hart, played by Sandra Bullock, quickly realizes that she has become easily recognized because of her exposure in the Miss America pageant.

Since it is impossible for her to go undercover anymore, the next best thing to do is become the new face of the FBI. With many admirers and fans, Gracie Hart learns to change her ways and become an FBI Barbie.

She gives up fighting and practicing at the shooting range for more time in the hair salon and television talk show circuits.

A new addition to the movie is agent Sam Fuller, played by Regina King. Agent Fuller is an out-of-control, outspoken agent whose last chance with the FBI is to be Hart’s bodyguard.

The two women hate each other and their personalities definitely clash throughout the movie.

Things are going well until Hart’s friends from the pageant—Cheryl, the reigning Miss America, played by Heather Burns and Stan, the emcee from the pageant, played by William Shatner—are kidnapped in Las Vegas and taken for ransom.

Although the FBI doesn’t want Hart to get involved with the case, she takes it upon herself to save her friends. Eventually, Hart and Fuller make amends and team up to save Stan and Cheryl.

The movie wasn’t as great as the first one, but sequels usually don’t hold a candle to the originals. Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous is a very comical movie mixed with action and a predictable plot.

This movie seemed funnier than the first one, but it’s expected when you have two dueling divas in the movie. Bullock and King have great chemistry and it shows throughout the whole movie in their comical situations.

Working with Fuller, Hart begins to realize that she isn’t meant to be the FBI Barbie and returns to her old self, realizing that she is truly happy with who she was in the beginning.

If you liked the first one, I would strongly encourage you to see the second one. Sandra Bullock does a great job with the movie. I thought she could have chosen a better role, but Miss Congeniality would not have been Miss Congeniality without Sandra Bullock.

Bullock is truly a talented actress with the different roles she plays in the movie. In part of the movie, she’s a superficial, plastic girl with nothing on her mind but her appearance … and the next minute, she’s a butt-kicking FBI agent.

Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous is directed by John Pasquin and produced by Warner Brothers Production. The movie is rated PG-13 for sex-related humor.
