Brothers of KA Order honor outstanding UTM professors monthly; Mosch, Coffey first honorees

The brothers of Kappa Alpha Order will honor a faculty member each month as an outstanding teacher, a positive influence, and friend to the brothers of KA. “This is our way of giving something back to the teachers who give us so much,” said Clint Cummins, Kappa Alpha Pres-ident. The KA brothers pick the outstanding teacher during the first meeting of each month. The brothers select the teachers who they feel not only make education fun but also exemplify the ideals of Kappa Alpha. The idea for this award has been a year long project. Last year KA hosted a faculty appreciation dinner at the KA house. On that occasion all of the faculty members were chosen just weeks prior to the event. This year KA will pick a faculty member to honor each month and in the spring they will have a dinner for those selected as teacher of the month. At the dinner one faculty member will be awarded the Kappa Alpha Teacher of the Year Award. So far this year Ted Mosch and David Coffey have received the teacher of the month honor.
