Beale Street Music Fest. promises great music


The Beale Street Music Festival is here once again with three jammed packed days of great music and good times.

The three day annual event, which kicks off the month long celebration of Memphis in May, features a lineup that has something for everyone.

The festival begins on Friday, April 30 and ends May 2. It will showcase all types of music.

There will be heavy metal, exhibited by Memphis natives Saliva; funk, which will be performed by the funk legend, George Clinton and classic rock from Styx.

The next two days follow the strong lead of the opening night. Featured performers include, Charlie Daniels Band, Puddle of Mudd, Collective Soul, Live, Foo Fighters, Steve Miller Band, Three 6 Mafia, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fuel, Journey, The Offsprings as well as numerous others.

The Memphis in May Music Festival is growing in popularity every year. The event is covered heavily by the media.

Although the event regularly sells out, tickets are still available from ticketmaster.com. The three-day passes are $58.50, or you can buy single day tickets for $22.50 at the gate.

The festival will be held in downtown Memphis at Tom Lee Park, a 33 acre park overlooking the Mississippi River.

The short two-hour drive from Martin is well worth this incredible weekend of music.
