He gave up two hits and an earned run. He struck out three of the eight batters he faced.

In Sunday’s game Brady Nighswonger, Bryant Jones, Brian Jordan and Hunter Hart turned in three hits each.

Jones and Dan Stephens drove in two runs each.

The Skyhawks scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning. Hart, a second year player, led off the inning with a double down the left field line. Stephens drove in Nighswonger with a double down the left field line.

The Skyhawks used four hits in the frame to put up the three runs.

Chicago State scored twice in the top of the fifth inning, but the Skyhawks answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning.

Coach David Hogue admitted, “We didn’t feel like we played to our capabilites, but it is definitely good to be able not to do your very best and still come out of a weekend with a three game winning sweep”.
