Bartholomew calls on campus to join her ‘team’ for a brighter tomorrow

Pamela Bartholomew wants to make "a positive difference on this campus" as SGA President for the 2004-05 school year.

Bartholomew, a junior Agriculture Education major from Decaturville, believes the first step toward doing just that is to inform the students about SGA and that it is an organization to serve them.

"Many people this year probably thought that SGA has not done anything to benefit the students," she says, but adds that this year, "the SGA has passed more legislation and gotten more accomplished than the previous two SGA administrations combined."

If she does not get the position, she still plans to be involved in SGA in any way she can. "President is just a title," she says. "You can make a difference in any office or position."

The issues

• Favors the "experience clause" in the SGA constitution, which requires executive council candidates to serve two semesters in an elected or appointed position prior to running. • Is not in favor of extending the campaigning periods. • Favors current campaign spending limits (set at $250). • Favors the Constitution Test required of candidates for any SGA office.
