The women spend their whole vacation with him, fall in love, and then, at the end of their trip, he breaks up with them, leaving them heartbroken.

Sandler swears that he will never settle down. His life-long dream is to sail for one year on a boat that he’s worked on for years, so one day he takes the boat out on a test run.

During his test run, he becomes shipwrecked on another part of the island. After he gets to shore he stops into a local coffee shop where he sees Lucy (Barrymore) and think’s that she’s a tourist, so he figures he will talk with her and play the same game as with all of the other women.

However, Lucy is a local and had been in an accident one year earlier, leaving her with no short-term memory.

After a lot of hard work, they eventually fall in love. But love with Lucy isn’t easy. Every night when she goes to bed her memory of the day before is erased and every morning she must start all over again.

So everyday they start all over and she watches a movie that Sandler has made of all of the times they’ve had together to help her remember him.

“It took a little while for the movie to get going, but the movie's fairy-tale nature eventually won me over,” said Ashlae Abraham, a senior from Hendersonville.
