Annual Empty Bowls supper will benefit local charity

The annual “Empty Bowls” light soup supper will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at the Interfaith Center, 312 Lovelace St. in Martin.

Cost for the supper only is $5 for the public and is free to UTM students. As has been the supper’s past tradition, soup can be purchased in a handmade pottery bowl for $20. UTM art professor David McBeth and his students have sold the bowls each year, with all proceeds donated to We Care Ministries in Martin to help fill local needs.

“As many already know, the bowls make wonderful Christmas gifts,” said Dean Emerson, director of Interfaith.
